1. Overview
QuickText Expanse (“QuickText”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) is a text-snippet tool for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It helps you save text you use often and insert it with one tap.
We designed QuickText as a local-first product. There is no QuickText account, no QuickText cloud, and no server that receives your snippets. This policy describes the limited situations in which data is processed, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
We do not collect personal information from the app. Specifically, the app contains:
- No account registration and no email sign-up.
- No third-party analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No advertising SDKs and no advertising identifier access.
- No access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera.
- No transmission of your snippets or keyboard input to us or to any third party.
If you email us for support, we receive the information you choose to include in your message (such as your email address and the content of your request). We use it only to answer you and to resolve the issue.
3. Snippets & keyboard data
Everything you save in QuickText is stored locally in the app’s container on your device. Deleting a snippet or uninstalling the app removes that data from the device, subject to your device backups.
Keyboard extension
The iOS keyboard extension runs on your device. It does not record, log, store or transmit what you type. It reads the text field only as needed to insert the snippet you select and to work with the host app’s text input.
Full Access
QuickText can insert snippets without granting “Allow Full Access”. You may choose to grant Full Access to enable optional features. Even when Full Access is granted, the keyboard does not send your keystrokes or snippet content over the internet. You can revoke Full Access at any time in iOS Settings.
Clipboard
If you use a feature that reads from or writes to the clipboard, it happens on your device at your request. We do not collect clipboard contents.
4. Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your snippets are stored in your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit service, so they can appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Apple processes this data under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not operate that storage and cannot read, access or recover your synced snippets.
You can turn iCloud sync off at any time in QuickText settings. Turning it off does not delete data already stored in iCloud; use Apple’s iCloud storage controls if you want to remove it.
5. Purchases
QuickText is sold through the App Store. Payments are processed by Apple, not by us. We do not receive your name, payment card details or billing address. Apple provides developers with anonymized sales and trend reports that do not identify individual customers. Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
6. This website
This website is served by our own web server. Like most web servers, it may record standard technical information in access logs — for example your IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and timestamp — for security, abuse prevention and basic operations. These logs are not used to build profiles, are not combined with app data, and are retained for a short period (normally no more than 30 days).
This site does not use cookies for advertising or analytics. If we add a privacy-friendly analytics tool in the future, this policy will be updated before it goes live.
7. Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data through the app, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, export or delete. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or another region with data-protection rights, you may still contact us with any request or question, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
8. Children
QuickText is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Retention & deletion
App data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Support emails are kept only for as long as needed to resolve the request and meet legal obligations, then deleted. Server access logs are rotated and deleted within approximately 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app changes or the law requires it. The effective date at the top of this page will always show the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
